Airport Capacity
Count indoor tiles, unlock bigger planes — the core progression gate.

Airport Capacity in Itty Bitty Airport
Capacity is the invisible stat that gates more progression than any runway or Gamepass. In Itty Bitty Airport, one indoor floor tile equals one passenger capacity. Taco Dev’s BETA tycoon (~35 Robux) uses this simple rule to pace unlocks from Beechcraft Premier I (0 capacity) to Airbus A380 (200 capacity). Misunderstand capacity and your Boeing 747 will circle forever despite a perfect Large Runway.
The capacity formula
Total capacity = count of indoor floor tiles
Counts:
- Enclosed terminal floor tiles
- Multi-floor indoor tiles (each floor tile counts)
- Expanded hallways inside terminal roof
Does NOT count:
- Runways, taxiways, outdoor aprons
- Jetways themselves (unless jetway floor is indoor tile — count carefully)
- Decorations without floor tiles
When in doubt, add one tile and retest landing.

Why 747 players hit a wall at 149 tiles
Boeing 747 requires 150 capacity — exactly. At 149 tiles, the aircraft never appears. Players who spent code cash on runways first feel cheated. Always verify with capacity calculator before announcing “747 ready.”
747 also needs:
- Large ATC Tower
- Large Runway
- Double Jetbridge
Capacity alone insufficient — see planes not landing.
Planning terminal expansion
Phase 1: 0–40 tiles (early game)
Supports Q400 (20) and Boeing 737 (40). Compact rectangular terminal near Small/Medium Runway. Beginner guide build order.
Phase 2: 40–80 tiles (mid game)
Unlock Airbus A320 (60) and Boeing 777 (80). Add wings for future jetways. Terminal design tips.
Phase 3: 80–150 tiles (late game)
Beluga (100), Concorde (120), C-17 (130), 747 (150). Budget cash for Large ATC before final tile push.
Phase 4: 150–200 tiles (endgame)
Airbus A380 (200) — ultimate capacity grind. Pair with Long Range ATC Tower ($400K at Level 8). Endgame airport
Capacity vs jetway count
Ten jetways do not create capacity. You might operate three gates while needing 150 tiles for 747 eligibility. Jetways determine where planes park after capacity and other requirements pass.
Planes still pathfind to last placed jetway — taxiway and jetway guide.
Efficient tile building
Build wide before tall — single-story expansions easier to count and pathfind.
Use repeatable wing modules from airport layouts — 10×10 wings = 100 tiles per wing pair.

Monorail terminals can include indoor connection tiles — monorail guide
Funding capacity expansions
How to get money — reinvest plane payouts into tiles.
Codes — $162,000 one-time helps mid-tier expansions.
Avoid Infinite Cash (1200R$) until you understand tile pacing — Gamepasses
Common capacity mistakes
Counting outdoor floor as indoor
Stopping at 148 tiles “close enough”
Building vertical without counting upper floors
Forgetting capacity after deleting terminal sections
Assuming Gamepass planes bypass capacity — they don’t
